Lady with Largest Heart

I finished the book Lady with Largest Heart. Poems of the Sumerian High Priestess ENHEDUANNA by Betty De Shong Meador.

ENHEDUANNA lived during the decline of the great Matriarchys of history, and witnessed the rise of the patriarchys.

I was touched beyond belief by this book, this priestess and her devotion to Inanna her beloved goddess and the extraordinary things she did in order to preserve the memory of prehistoric herstory in tablets of clay.

Her poetry is stunning. The growing body of translated Sumerian tablets continue to furnish incredible, illuminating literature that puts what follows, historically in a completely new perspective, and gives pointers toward further fascinating study into where all the great women went.

Contained in ENHEDUANNA's rituals as described in her poetry and in the abundance of steles, carvings and other types of art work, are relics of stone age, pre historic beliefs, customs and clues to a feminine world eradicated by the hands of men.
