Lately I’ve had a sort of fashionable renaissance, not having to buy clothes simply for the office, I’ve been able to buy the things I want, for me, when I’ve had the opportunity to buy. Plus, I now have a sewing machine! This later thing has me slowly designing in my head spilling a few sketches onto paper. And just in time because this fall season is about the most exciting fashion season I’ve seen west of the Rockies, well lets see, ummm EVER!
The Vancouver Fashion week started off with a bang! Aboriginal designers were the first to showcase their talents. My favorite was a breathtaking purple ostrich feather floor length coat designed by Pam Baker that I think she plucked right out of my dreams of magic series. I found myself nearly drooling as I flipped through the images of aboriginal designs.
Personally, I’m dreaming of corduroy, velvet, and satin.
